THE GEO-ECONOMIC DIMENSIONS OF THE SILK ROAD AND ITS IMPACT ON IRAQ

Abstract

China proposed the Silk Road project, which is a network of roads and paths for the exchange of goods, commercial goods, experiences and different cultures. It is a multi-dimensional project that covers countries and vast geographical regions and has a repercussion on many countries, especially Iraq, due to its various natural resources and great economic potential.
The Silk Road focuses on strengthening cooperation through dialogue between countries and laying the foundations for more stable comprehensive development. It represents the need for joint development at the global level, which needs to reduce high costs and shorten time and distances between geographical regions to obtain products and develop infrastructure to reduce poverty and eliminate poverty. The unemployment.
Iraq is in dire need to join this global project, which provides great economic opportunities from investments, capital investment, thousands of job opportunities and infrastructure development, especially since Iraq needs immediate and future plans to overcome the economic problems it suffers from.
