Route Education and Social Science Journal

Abstract

The study aimed to arrive at a proposal to apply one of the queue theories models to raise the level of service quality, and to minimise costs. In order achieve to that was collected daily statistical data and analyzing it using probability theory to reach knowledge of the rate and distribution of ships arrival time and service time. The total viewing time was estimated at one hundred and eighty (183) days. A model (M / M/ C) (FCFS /∞ / ∞) has been applied using the (Quantitative System for Business Windows) WinQSB program. For general cargo. And it has been reached can a model that contribute to raising the level of services inside the port. Also, proposal model that can minimise the costs, and it can Through the results achieved the study recommends to raise awareness among employees through various means of the importance of caring for operations research, because of its tangible results in the practical aspect, and the importance of using quantitative methods in general and the queuing grow theory in particular, the study recommends that it can be used to rationalize the decisions.
