HUMIDITY AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO PLANT GROWTH IN THE WESTERN PLATEAU OF ANBAR GOVERNORATE

Route Education and Social Science Journal

Abstract

The study focused on the humidity and its relationship to the growth
of desert plants in the western plateau of Anbar governorate. The
main study question was about the possibility of the humidity factor
on the growth of the desert plants in the western plateau. The study
refers whether this effect is direct or indirect on the plants. To
achieve this goal, the researcher reviewed the role of humidity factor
on plant growth and the nature of effects that caused by humidity.
In addition, the both monthly and annual temperature and humidity
were calculated for the period from 2010-2019, due to the
importance of the temperature factor and its close relationship with
humidity. The relationship between temperature and humidity is
inverse in one season and positive relationship in another season
and place. The humidity ratio in the air is one of the main factors
that determine the quality and nature of the presence of different
plant species in the study area. The effect of humidity and the
amount of water vapor in the air as well as soil moisture has been
shown directly on some physiological processes in the plant.
However, some plants have the ability to tolerate the great shortage
in their water content due to the abundance of what they need in
their thick roots.
