THE PEOPLE'S PARTY AND ITS POLITICAL ROLE IN PAKISTAN

Abstract

The research deals with the People's Party and its political role in Pakistan since its establishment in 1967 until 1988, founded by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto when he was opposed to the rule of President Muhammad Ayub Khan (1958-1969) and later Muhammad Yahya Khan (1969-1971) ,The military had been given the opportunity of the People's Party to receive power for the period (1972-1977) led by Bhutto, but the military government returned to the country after the coup by the Pakistani General Zia Al-Haq and the receipt of power for the period (1977-1988), which made the People's Party was an opposition party throughout that period until it returned and was re-elected by Benazir Bhutto in 1988 after Dia's death The right to the said year.
