Özet

Islamic geographical heritage is a rich source that has contributed to the study of medicinal plants and the documentation of their use in traditional medicine, combining geographical and environmental knowledge. Islamic civilization had a great interest in medicinal plants, and they constitute an essential part of contemporary geography.
Medicinal plants are among the most important natural resources used throughout the ages to treat diseases and promote health. They play an important role in traditional medicine and the pharmaceutical industry. With the development of medical sciences, the importance of medicinal plants has increased as a basic basis for the discovery and development of medicines. Medicinal plants are a bridge between traditional and modern medicine. They are used directly or as a source for developing new drugs. They overlap with the fields of economic, environmental, and health geography. Their preservation and development require a multidisciplinary approach, including scientific research, environmental policies, and community engagement.
