POPULATION GROWTH AND RURAL MIGRATION TOWARDS URBAN CENTERS IN THE ARAB WORLD

Özet

The research aims to know the population growth in the Arab world and the extent of the impact of rural migration on this growth and urban centers And to clarify the most important factors influencing rural migration and the effects resulting from this migration at the level of the city, the countryside and the immigrant The importance of the research stems from the problems that have emerged and exacerbated in the Arab world related to population growth and the impact of rural population migration towards urban centers The analytical approach was adopted for the totality of the research data, as well as the descriptive approach in describing the most important influencing factors and the most important effects resulting from migration It was found that the average annual growth rate of the population of the Arab world between 2019 and 2020 was about 1.14%. In the Arab Gulf countries, where it decreased by -6.50% in the Emirates, followed by Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain by -0.81%, as these rates are related to international incoming migration There are also economic, social, geographical and demographic factors affecting migration from the countryside to the city. Rural migration towards urban centers in the Arab world has effects on the city and the countryside and on the immigrant and his family. Mostly the effects are negative rather than positive. The treatment is represented in rural development, as it is one of the best solutions to reduce migration is the only way to achieve sustainable development.
