GEOGRAPHICAL ANALYSIS OF EFFICIENCY OF TRANSPORTATION ACROSS BRIDGES IN AL-NASIRIYA CITY

Özet

Transportation is the most important infrastructure sector, due to its important role in the development and movement of the economy of the country on the one hand, and the social cycle of societies, as well as its importance in enhancing spatial interaction between the neighborhoods of one city. Among the important infrastructures is the establishment of strategic bridges on rivers that are considered natural geographical separations. Therefore, developed and developing countries alike have been keen on the development of transport systems to facilitate means of communication and treatment of transport traffic, traffic flow and flow, in addition to the adequacy of roads and streets and their systems, and then the problems arising from them because Traffic congestion has become one of the main problems that characterize the life of large cities in particular . The study area witnessed an increase in the number of residents and thus an expansion in the areas of its residential neighborhoods, which formed pressure in the city of Nasiriyah, in which many bottlenecks appeared due to the unintended increase in the number of cars, which caused bottlenecks, particularly at peak times that coincide with certain periods during the day. From this standpoint, and as a solution to many of these problems, the Directorate of Roads and Bridges of Nasiriyah constructed many bridges for the purpose of easing traffic jams and facilitating the task of moving between the northern and southern parts of the city.
