ORTAOKUL ÖĞRETMENLERİNİN "OKUL MÜDÜRÜ" KAVRAMINA YÖNELİK ALGILARI: METAFOR ÇALIŞMASI

Özet

Ortaokul öğretmenlerinin “okul müdürü” kavramına dair algılarını metaforlar aracılığı ile belirlemek için gerçekleştirilen bu çalışma Samsun ili Çarşamba ilçesinde kamu ortaokullarında görev yapan 107 ortaokul öğretmeninin araştırmaya gönüllü katılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma nitel olup olgubilim ile desenlenmiştir. Çalışma grubuna, araştırmacı tarafından düzenlenmiş olan “Okul müdürü………gibidir, çünkü………” sorusunun bulunduğu görüşme formu uygulanmış ve öğretmenlerden boşlukları doldurmaları istenmiştir. Çalışma grubunun vermiş olduğu cevaplar kullanım nedenine göre kategorileştirilmiş ve araştırmanın bulguları elde edilmiştir. Bulgular ışığında ortaokul öğretmenlerinin “okul müdürü” kavramı ile ilgili en çok “baba”, “aslan” ve “karınca” metaforlarını tercih ettikleri, nedenine göre ise en çok “liderlik”, “adalet” ve “çalışkanlık” kategorilerinde yanıt verdikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Çalışma grubunu oluşturan öğretmenlerin tamamının okul müdürü kavramına dair olumlu metafor kullandıkları tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract

This study, which was carried out to determine the perceptions of secondary school teachers about the concept of "school principal" through metaphors, was carried out with the voluntary participation of 107 secondary school teachers working in public secondary schools in the town of Çarşamba, Samsun. The research is qualitative and patterned with phenomenology. The interview form with the question "School principal is like………, because………", prepared by the researcher, was applied to the study group and the teachers were asked to fill in the blanks. The answers given by the study group were categorized according to the reason for use and the findings of the research were obtained. In the light of the findings, it was concluded that secondary school teachers mostly preferred the metaphors of "father", "lion" and "ant" related to the concept of "school principal", and according to the reason, they mostly responded in the categories of "leadership", "justice" and "diligence". It was determined that all of the teachers who made up the study group used positive metaphors about the concept of school principal.
