Özet

Biographical research is a valuable addition to the Iraqi, Arabic and humanitarian library. Many are those who specialized in geography in Iraq, but few of them left a mark in the construction of the contemporary Iraqi geographical school. It is truly an interest in the history of cities and countries, as we have found in many cultural and scientific institutions in the world those who care about the effects of creators and their products, or collect their personal belongings, and spend a lot of money in order to buy the simplest that is attributed to them.
Hence the aim of the study came to identify a unique scientific personality, who represented a shining sign in the history of geography at all local, regional and global levels. He is considered one of Iraq’s notables and well-known scholars through his distinguished contributions to the science of geography. He is Professor Dr. Ali Muhammad Ali Abbas al-Mayah, one of the most prominent professors Iraq, pioneers in economic geography, contributed to the development of contemporary geography, He is also the first Arab professor to establish the mathematical statistical method in geography, one of the media of contemporary geography, owner of a distinguished geographical school (Al-Mayah School), which is methodologically strict and keeps pace with the successive global scientific developments. Establishing the rules of contemporary geography in Iraq.
